ok, well, yay I be a deviant!

not much else to say except:

I don't generally manip for fun, I have purpose for my work, be it banners signatures or even the odd (poorly constructed) layout for a particular horse sim game. So, my work may not be listed here as much, but it will be floating about.

so, stock accounts beware! Pony is on the prowl for stock images (Why do you think I joined DA?).

Thanks for the :+fav: on 'Love over this.' And thanks in showing support to my artwork =3 It means a lot to me.

you know that I faved it because I think its awesome, Cat. Keep up the top work!

As to how I have been, uh, well, hot, to be honest. Its summer here, and we are having temperatures in excess of 40 degrees (celcius) daily. I think thats about 105 degrees fareinheit or something. Otherwise, all is well (thank goodness we have a pool). The exams were, okay, I guess, but if I want to be a vet, I need to pick my game up for the next lot of exams in April, and then the ones in August, and the really, really big ones on October (faints in fear).

So, how is sunny Florida and your school?

Thanks Pony! :D

Oh wow. I heard about the fire that's going on over there....and how in Northern Aus it's basically flooding. Talk about difference. Well, pick up your game then Pony! Also, that's a lot of exams. But, hopefully it'll all end up good once they're done with, correct? (:

Sunny Florida has been cold. Very. Cold. Last week some time it was in the 20 degree range, which is about -6 or so Celsius, and with the wind chill it was around 15 or so, which is around -9 or -10 degrees Celsius. Like I said, very. Cold. But now it's warming up again, which I don't want. It can stay in the 65-70 degree range (Fahrenheit)...it's nice then. And school....is still killing me. It's doing worse, if that's possible. And by some miraculous event, I'm actually right on schedule with my credits...we need at least 10, I have exactly 10. But the thing is, I think I'm trying too hard to get good grades, meaning I over analyze things more than I usually do. My GPA has gone down, again. It was a 1.8 in the first quarter (that's not good. Before, in middle school, it was around a 3.0-3.5, the highest GPA is 4.0), and then in the past quarter it was .859 or something. Ugh.

-6 in Florida!? I would almost pull out the "global warming my butt" if it wernt for what we are getting here. And, yeah, its a strange state of affairs, but, well, welcome to Aus (btw, I am stuck right in the middle, north of me is flooded out, south of me is lost in an inferno.)

Cat, have you tried tutoring? And with assignments, if you can get a copy to a teacher a week or so before hand (so they can pick you up on errors) seems to help me. My physics teacher says that the first thing you think of is generally what they want. If you see a diagram in maths that consists of a right angled triangle, with two sides listed, you do pythag rather than trig, right? (coz trying to find the second angle is a PITA). Is there any possible way that you can change subjects? Normally I would give (my brother) the "pay attention in class, do all your work" rant, but I know that that doesn't apply to you. The rant that I usually give myself, however, the "tell your parents / teacher why you are struggling, becasue they can usually help you" one might be useful. You might be suprised wht they can come up with.

I am actually suprised to hear that the fires are making news over in the states. They said that it was on our news, but they also said that about the chasers APEC stunt. You know that it has to be bad when everyone is commenting on how worried our Prime Minister seems to be, and when you see on the scene news reporters in tears. Last time I heard, the total death tally was over 120, and one town doesn't exist any more. It was just completely obliterated. I live about 1 000 km ( aproximately 650 miles) away from the worst of the fires, and this morning, we had a smoke haze (from the fires 1 000 km away) so bad that I couldn't see the hills that are about 13 miles from our house. They say that its worse than ash wednesday... dunno what this one will be called though... ash weekend?

Have fun in lovely freaking-freezing Florida.

Well, it wasn't -6, but it seemed like it at times. D:
Oh, that's lovely. Hah. Stuck in the middle of everything.

My friend Courtney recently said to me during a movie in History when she saw my grades (because she is EXTREMELY good in Math and Science), "I'm going to tutor you in everything." Hah. And about the pythag rather than trig, yes, I do...although I still haven't figured out how to do the pythag correctly. Heh. I can't change subjects this late in the year, because it's already halfway through. I doubt they'd let me change courses from honors to regular, either. Florida's education system is...lovely. As for trying to tell them, I have, but I can't really get what's in my mind out into words or paper....the only way I can tell them is that I can't understand it. I also say I can't remember anything. They automatically think it's because I'm not paying attention or too much computer. I'm rarely on the computer anymore and I pay attention. The whole remembering thing is really hard to explain...sort of like the information is in my brain, but just out of reach. That's the only way I can really explain it.

Oh my. They didn't show us any news reporters in tears, but on AOL news I saw the death toll was now over 130 or more. That's terrible. I saw a fire from school today. I could tell it was a fire because the clouds in the sky were being tinted orange. We surprisingly haven't had any huge ones like we did last year in Okeechobee, when it went on for a week or so before they could finally put it out.
Ash weekend..heh. But that's a lot of smoke if you couldn't see the hills that are about 13 miles away, and the fire's about 650 miles away.

It's actually warming up now..still a bit cool in the early morning when I go to school, but by the time I come home at 2:30, it's already warmed to about 70 degrees F. And they said by the end of the week it'll be about 80 F. But apparently we still have 6 more weeks of 'winter'. The whole groundhog day thing doesn't apply to Florida. Hah. We have two seasons: warm and hot. Well, last year and this year it's actually been three: freeze-your-butt-off, warm, and hot. Haha.

My maths teacher (gotta love him) says that the a squared + b squared thing is crap. When doing pythag, you need to rember it as "the short side squared + the other short side squared = the long side squared". Sure made it easier for me! I understand exactly what you mean with the "out of reach thing". It is the most frustrating feeling to know that the information is *right there*, but you can't grab hold of it. Perhaps if you tried to link what you know with other events, it may help. The school captain of our school thinks that listening to music while she studies helps so that she can link her favourite songs to what she knows. It seems to work for her, but I haven't tried it.

As for the fires, the death toll is now over 180, and they think that it could be pushing 300 when they are finished. A huge "donate to us to help the victims" fund has been set up by the Australian red cross, and is being publicised by the biggest breakfast show in Australia (called "sunrise"). about $31 million (yes, million) has been raised. Considering the the total population of Australia is about 20 million people...

Florida sounds good. I love warm weather. Shame about the third freeze-your-butt-off-cold season. But, compared to what they are getting in Britian at the moment, it can't be bad.
